How Does the 2018 BMW X1 Compare to the 2018 Acura RDX?

Are you searching for a new SUV for the roads of Boston and Worcester? If style and performance are your essential features, then the 2018 BMW X1 may be exactly what you're looking for. Attractive to the eye and crammed full of top-tier features, it's an excellent option for drivers in search of a solid luxury crossover. It's not the only option on the road, however. Vehicles like the 2018 Acura RDX also offer solid luxury packages aimed at delivering great features and solid performance. You have to ask yourself: which one is better?

A quick look at them is enough to see that they're both solid options with great style and good performance. They're also similarly priced with comparable fuel economy, cargo space, and performance. That being said, the X1 has several elements that make it, in our opinion, the better buy.

  • The BWM X1 offers a wider range of standard features that the Acura RDX. This includes automatic climate control, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and push-button ignition. The Acura RDX's offerings include some valuable features, but nothing to trump the X1's.
  • Every BMW X1 receives complimentary scheduled maintenance for four years/50,000 miles. That can go a long way toward keeping your car in peak condition, and it's a benefit the RDX can't match.
  • While the RDX's performance figures are slightly higher than the BMW X1's, the X1 gets better mileage. 22/32 miles per gallon might not sound like much compared to the RDX's 20/28 miles per gallon, but it can add up to major savings over time.
